Questions

How does Oyste work?
You describe the artwork you want and Oyste generates it, or you upload a photo you already have. You then choose portrait or landscape and a frame size, and Oyste prints the artwork, frames it and ships it to you.
What does a framed print cost?
Framed prints are A4 CA$79.00, A3 CA$99.00, A2 CA$195.00, A1 CA$299.00. Shipping is included in every price.
What sizes are available?
Four sizes: A4 (21 x 29.7 cm), A3 (29.7 x 42 cm), A2 (42 x 59.4 cm) and A1 (59.4 x 84.1 cm). Every size comes in portrait or landscape at the same price. Uploaded photos set their own shape: a landscape photo gets a landscape frame.
Can I print my own photo?
Yes. The studio has a tab for printing your own photo instead of generating art. Uploads can be JPG, PNG or WebP up to 12MB. Aim for at least 1800 pixels on the long edge for A4, 2500 for A3, 3500 for A2 and 5000 for A1. The studio checks your image against the size you pick and says so if it is too small.
What are the prints made of?
Prints are made on heavyweight matte paper and framed in wood behind shatterproof glazing, with a mount around the artwork. Artwork is printed in the same proportions as the frame, so generated pieces fill it edge to edge.
How large can artwork be printed before it looks soft?
Generated artwork is 2896 by 4096 pixels, in the same proportions as the frame. That is about 245 dpi at A3, 175 at A2 and 124 at A1, so it prints sharply at every size. For an uploaded photo it depends on the file: Uploads can be JPG, PNG or WebP up to 12MB. Aim for at least 1800 pixels on the long edge for A4, 2500 for A3, 3500 for A2 and 5000 for A1. The studio checks your image against the size you pick and says so if it is too small.
What styles can Oyste generate?
Four looks: painterly oil on canvas, fine art photography, flat graphic poster, and ink and wash. You pick a look, add an optional mood such as a warm or cool palette, and describe the subject in your own words.
How long does an order take?
2 to 5 business days to print and frame, plus delivery time. Shipping is included in the price, worldwide.
Can I return a print?
Oyste prints are made to order, so we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. If a print arrives damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, we replace it or refund you in full. Email yadebox@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photograph.
How do I contact Oyste?
Email yadebox@gmail.com. That is the address for order questions, delivery problems and anything wrong with a print.
Does Oyste ship internationally?
Yes. Shipping is included in the price and Oyste ships worldwide.
